There are a few dating sites out there that help people to meet Asian singles, but iDateAsia.com (btw, iDateAsia.com is AsiaMe.com now) caught our attention and merits a review because it's operated by a company that specialises in setting up long distance relationships, Qpid. iDateAsia's sister websites include LatamDate (for meeting Latin Americans - see our review here) and CharmDate (targeting Russians and Ukrainians -our review can be read here). With such experience in helping individuals meet from afar, our hopes were high.

Our AsiaMe Review

Like it's sister sites, iDateAsia (AsiaMe) offers good accessibility options, with the site working well on any device and a specific mobile application available too, for those who prefer dating apps. It's modern and fresh with a cover page that sums the company's unique selling point up in a clear manner – this is a site mainly used by Western guys looking to meet, date and have relationships with South East Asian ladies; whether they be from Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, etc. There's an introductory video and some examples of media coverage the dating site has had, as well as a news feed that we're pleased to see is kept up to date (the amount of dating websites that don't update their news feed is a real bugbear of our review team!) There's also a few security seals of approval, member testimonials and other bits & bobs to demonstrate the trust factor to new visitors.

Signing up is swift, as you would expect from a modern dating site, with the standard dating registration form or the option to post your basic details (name, DOB, nationality, etc) to the site via Facebook in one click (they are quick to stress that this option does not let iDateAsia post to your Facebook page, it's simply a mechanism to allow faster entrance to the singles area).

How Does iDateAsia / AsiaMe Work?

After confirming your email for security reasons, you're let loose inside the members area, which for our male reviewers was filled with the profile pictures of Asian matches and for our female dating reviewers was mostly populated by Western based guys. It's certainly a busy internet dating site, even despite the somewhat limited nature of the market (after all, how many men are looking for a new relationship with a woman that's thousands of miles away?), yet the number of female members is encouraging.

There are lots of ways to search for single members, with typical filters like age and country, as well as the ability to look for users that are online at the same time as you, to allow the more instant forms of communication (more on that later). Searching and viewing profiles is free of charge, allowing you to check things out before you decide whether to go for the upgrade. iDateAsia (AsiaMe) is a credits based site, so if you do decide to start making contact then you purchase your chosen number of credits and use these as you go.

In order to start chatting with someone that catches your eye, you need to select from one of the many communication options. To reach out to members you can send ice-breaker messages, emails, virtual gifts, set up a call through the site, or go one step further and use the webcam facility. This latter option is an excellent idea that we're surprised more sites don't offer, because there is usually a moment in each online dating chat where you're almost ready to meet someone in person but would still like a bit more time, or a chance to see a better picture of them (you don't walk up to the wrong person in a cafe!) The webcam feature let's you engage on a level beyond instant messaging and can be the perfect final test to make sure you have chemistry before meeting up. When “meeting up” means flying to the other side of the world, as in the case of iDateAsia, the webcam opportunity for chatting to Asian girls is even more useful.

Is iDateAsia / AsiaMe A Good Site To Meet Asian Women

If you're looking to meet girls from Asia and don't mind the possibility of a long distance relationship, then iDateAsia (AsiaMe) is certainly a good place to start. The fact that it's part of a large online dating company and boasts a decent number of users (particularly Asian women) on the platform means that it has as good a chance as any dating site at helping you find the Asian girl of your dreams.

Remember folks, no matter how good a dating site is or how many new members it receives each week, you're always better to hedge your bets with multiple memberships on different sites. One site will never keep you busy all the time, so if it's a busy love life and value for money you're looking for, we'd suggest trying at least 3 sites at any given time and
